My biggest concern is Hurts playing hot potato with the football. Protect the ball and we’ve got a real shot.

At this level, anyone can beat anyone but it's unlikely. LSU is clearly the best team in the country right now.

Alabama was a 10 point favorite over Ohio in 2015. Right now LSU is a 12 point favorite, could go down a bit so this isn't impossible.

I would add it might depend on what LSU's O line is like. If they are big space eaters our D might be a bit more challenged. It's strength is in the front seven and pressure IMO.

I am. OU has the weapons to make this close if they avoid the mistakes that plagued them in a few games. If OU can get the lead, they have a style more conducive to grinding it out and playing keep away.

Been saying I think OU is a really dangerous team. They show glimpses of brilliance. If they out it together they can take down the Tigers. Just because a team hasn’t lost a game doesn’t mean anything. OU in 2003 shows, any given day.

Obviously the most talked about matchup of the CFP has been OSU-Clemson. Both are unbeaten and both have been dominant for the overwhelming majority of the season.

On the other side, it's basically an assumption that LSU is going to roll and meet the Fiesta Bowl winner. Does anyone actually have any faith OU can pull of the win, or even keep it close?

Personally, I think this game is much closer than the experts are saying. LSU has done very well against the ranked teams they've faced who are mediocre on offense - UF, Auburn, and UGA. None of them are elite, and all three are very one-dimensional (UGA and Auburn more run focused with poor passing offenses, Florida the other way around).

However, OU is a team that can do it all offensively. The only other ranked team LSU has faced like that this year is Alabama, and that ended up being a 5-point game with a banged-up Tua who was less than 3 weeks removed from ankle surgery. Other than Alabama, the only top 25 offense LSU has faced this year is Texas, and they were able to almost go blow-for-blow with LSU the whole way. Not that I am picking OU straight up, but I think they do cover, and I think this game is a lot closer than most think.

I agree that OU covers, but Jalin Hurts is prone to make mistakes. If he plays virtually an error free game, OU does have a chance.

If Stingley is put on Lamb and is able to actually limit him, that's LSU's best chance. In that case, it could very well be a 2-3+ TD game, but I'm not sure if he can. Stingley is a monster of a CB, but Lamb is an NFL-ready WR.

I’m really not sure there’s a college corner who can cover lamb one on one. Our bigger problem is Riley defaults to veterans way too often in these types of games and two of our veteran receivers are good players but not elite by any means and they struggle mightily to get open against the LSU’s of the world. Riley doesn’t seem to understand it doesn’t matter how trust worthy they are if you can’t get open. He’s got some elite young talent that LSU has no tape on that could be very dangerous if LSU focuses on Lamb, but I’ve seen nothing to make me believe he’ll use it and that will be a big mistake Riley just can’t seem to learn from.

Alabama, Clemson and Oklahoma have had the most playoff appearances since the playoff started.

Alabama has some national titles
Clemson has some national titles
Oklahoma has yet to win a playoff game

This is the worst of the previous 3 Oklahoma teams. They are going up against one of, if not the best team in the country.
LSU is going to destroy these guys.
Congrats on O-4 Sooners.

They need to get Hurts out of his rhythm. That said, the score could be humongous.

Hurts hasn’t developed a rhythm West Virginia. He really looks like he’s lost confidence as a passer.

Pretty sure Bama was a double digit favorite in 14 against OU in the sugar bowl as well and we know how that turned out. OU usually plays very well as an underdog
