When i lived in Charlotte, i lived next door to a guy who worked as a plumbing supervisor for a local construction company. He was a fairly dark skinned Catawba Indian i think, lots of them around that area of North Carolina. My kids were really young at the time and they would always laugh at the guy when he was outside in his yard doing yard work, plumbers crack and all glaring like the sun. One day driving down the road one of my kids saw that and said it looked like our neighbor bent over in the yard. I think of that day every time I see that damn thing. Glad i dont have to drive past it any more.

True story- when I used to do electrical work I almost fell to my fucking death through the attic of the first Babtist Church of Enterprise's plaster ceiling. That bitch is old as shit and has some kind of ancient insulation in there so we had to wear respirators when we were up there re-wiring the sanctuary. I had never worn one before and that shit made me damn near faint from lack of oxygen. The whole ceiling is plaster so if i would have fell and lost my footing from the wood rafters i would have fell about 40-50 foot and probably died right in the sanctuary of that bech.

I've only been back to enterprise three times in 30 years and only as a drive by, i am sure its changed a bunch. My dad worked at Rucker(sp) when i was a boy. He was a troubleshooter on Helo's coming back from Nam. He test flew them(if they would fly) and repair them. He officially has been in 6 crashes of helos and walked away from all of them.

The one at the state line down 431 is one my dad officially fixed and flew back in the day. He says it makes him feel old to see it as a monument like that.
