If I'm Harbaugh, I would threaten to walk over this....

Meh, just all rumors at this point. No one knows. Schissel is dealing with GSI strikes and people pissed off at every front. I wouldn't be shocked if he gave in on Football just to clear his plate of one thing.

While the Browns haven't won a playoff game since 1995 the Lions haven't won one since 1957.

The Lions haven’t won a playoff game since 1957? That’s not true.

It's a different game in the NFL. Here are Harbaugh's NFL numbers:

Are you telling me that an NFL team wouldn't throw money towards a guy with this resume in the NFL? Even if he couldn't make it happen at Michigan, I think at least half of the NFL would fire their current coach if they knew they could get Harbaugh. Again, just my two cents. Maybe he is used goods and NFL teams wouldn't want anything to do with him anymore.
It's not how you start, it's how you finish: Harbaugh got off to a 27-9-1 (.743) start in his first two seasons; then dropped to 22-13 (.628) his last two. I'm sure there are still NFL teams that would hire him, but he's not the hot commodity he once was.

I don't believe that for a minute. Most coaches excel in either the NFL or NCAA. Very few excel in both (Pete Carrol comes to mind). I don't think you are judged too harshly based on how you did in one over the other if you have had sustained success in that league in the past.

If Harbaugh said he was leaving Michigan, he would have a multiple multi year offers from NFL teams in the $8-$10 million range immediately. Perhaps I'm wrong, but he's still young, has a history of coaching success in his family, and has an amazing NFL resume from his time with the Niners. NFL teams won't care that he was lackluster at Michigan. Again, just my two cents.

One. 1991.

A single playoff win since 1957. The most pathetic statistic in all of professional sports.

(and I'm a Lions fan)

I was wondering where he got the only win is from 1957 stat from. The Lions had a great year that season.

Did I read their year by year history wrong? Let me doublecheck. Dammit, yep. Sometimes I'm just in too much of a hurry. Thanks for the correction.

It's alright. It's like debating whether your team lost by 30 or 31 points. Either way, it doesn't matter. They're both just as bad!

VERY true, although at this point, I'd take the Lions over the Browns. The Browns have had a truly historic 20 year run. I believe they have had the worst 20 year run in the history of the NFL (in terms of total wins). Regardless, being slightly skinner than the fattest kid at fat camp isn't much of an accomplishment.

Their history isn't great. But I was wrong when I said they haven't won a playoff game since '57.
Yes, you were but they have been so consistently bad that it is easy to overlook that.

The Browns and Lions were solid teams back in the 1950's.

In your defense you were only off by one game

What's the feeling around Columbus for a season? I miss Fall Saturdays at The Shoe.
Generally pretty annoyed. The same annoyance at the lack of information available, coupled with watching one of our most talented teams get taken out by bureaucracy.
