Heres some considerations though

I dont cook for many people, just me and the lady........so i dont need something large, 2-4 burners

I dont need a smoker , and id prefer gas, even though charcoal tastes better..........

anyone got any suggestions

seriously though, i have not cooked with gas in a really long time, so I have no idea whats out there.
i do the charcoal thing on the smoker. use the "electric iron" to start the coals, it's blazing in about 15 minutes without any fuss or starter fluid.

mine is a little larger than this and I use it for grilling and smoking.

This is the electric iron and is about $10 at Acadamy or Walmart

I know it's not what you said, but people like the ease of gas and getting the above is just about as easy.....
almost.

i need a new smoker though too, i was planning on just getting a smaller grill, and small smoker

i had a bullet smoker last time, and i lvoed it, but the cost of charcoal and chips, for the amount of stuff i smoked was crazy,

I've got a gas Weber. It's nothing fancy. Weber is a good brand. Mostly, I'm just grilling for 2, or even for one. I will grill for myself if no one else is around. I can still cook for 6 or 8 if I have to.

You've got a stove, right? So, you don't need the extra side burners that push you up to the next model level and drive the price sky high.

I like the simplicity of gas, too, although I'm considering getting a charcoal grill too now that I'm retired and time is available. Buy an extra propane tank, and keep it filled. My live tank ran out last week, and I was back up in 3 minutes on the spare.

The Weber Performer: Yea, it's charcoal, but it's all I know and it's not that much work. They've taken the work out of charcoal grills these days.

I'm rocking the Weber Genesis E-330. I like the side burner because whenever my wife wants to cook something stinky, she can do it outside without making the house smell for days.
