I've seen it failed more times then not. If it fails, it takes years too recover

Folks took a major step backwards this year. He is 14-4 as a starter and has yet to finish a season. There is a lot of good and bad with him. He is still mostly an unknown. Without the excellent Special Teams play the first half of the season he would not be 14-4. With all that I love the fact that when Foles is playing and we need to come back in the 4th quarter I believe he can get it done. He seems to play well in crunch time and that is worth keeping around.

I just don' want to give up a lot to move up. It usually never works out for the team that does that. If Mariota was a lock to be a franchise QB then Tampa Bay would be taking him. I have faith in Chip so what every happens I am still all in.

I don't think Foles is the long term answer. But we are not in a position to trade up for Mariota without being scalped. So we are stuck with him I guess.

Absolutely every coach wants his guy at QB. But like the rolling stones song once said "You can't always get what you want"

Like I have said a few times if he can get his man without making a Mike Dikta, Vikings Hershal Walker type trade then he will do it. I will say this, if Kelly goes out and does a RGIII type deal for Mariotta I will probably bash the hell out of him for it. Those moves never work. But if he can do something that makes sense, like maybe dealing two ones, a couple of lower picks and a player and then deals Foles to obtain some higher picks back then it shows forsight and that is ok.

Personally I think he can win with Foles, he would be better off using those picks to strengthen the team. But if he has to have Mariotta he has to show he understand he needs to do everything to soften the blow of overpaying to trade up to get him.
