How did we get here?

We played a close game to just miss against Philly, Just missed against the Fins, Squeaked by the Jets and then the wheels fell off.
We sustained a bunch of key injuries and 3rd and 4th string players are not stepping up.
Remaining starters are worn down.
Returning starters are not ready and not enough.
Teams are exploiting are glaring weakness's and stacking the box - taking away our strengths.
Moral has to be down. The whole organization is under attack.
This team is in last place and arguably does not deserve that.
You know what a team has to do to be in last place? - Absolutely nothing.

In 2002, we were last year's SB champs and early in the season, we went on a 5 game losing streak.
In a team meeting, BB walked in and took the podium,He said<
"there are 3 types of people in this room,"
"those that have a solution, those that will support those that have a solution, and those who will shut the fuck up!"
We are in one of those turning points now.
Note: In 2003 we went on to win the Superbowl.....

Let me give it a whack:

• Patriots need a world-class offensive line (like me and most have been yelling since pre-post-Brady)
• A coaching staff that can support that amazing offensive line
• Bill Belichick has to shut-up as general manager

Eagles and Dolphins were just figuring things out. Jets were mentally a mess. The lugs were loose in games 1,2,3 and came completely of the logs against the Cowboys and the Saints.

Everyone has injuries. Staff has to have people in place that can fill and perform. The OL was a problem in February. It was not properly addressed. The team is paying the price for poor management.
Remaining starters are worn down.
Not so much worn down as beaten up.
Returning starters are not ready and not enough.
Pushing the envelope and it getting torn to pieces.
Teams are exploiting are glaring weakness's and stacking the box - taking away our strengths.
Without an OL. the running game is not a strength. The passing game was a weakness in February. Again, not properly addressed.
Moral has to be down. The whole organization is under attack.
Moral is down because the team has completely lost faith in the head coach. He has no answers. His latest: "We have to start all over again."
This team is in last place and arguably does not deserve that.
Like any other team. You deserve what you earn. They've earned nothing. They don't DESERVE to be playing in the NFL.
You know what a team has to do to be in last place? - Absolutely nothing.
The Patriots deserve to be in last place because they have earned it.

There isn't much that's really positive. It starts with BB and ends with BB. The relity is that this team has been sliding downhill for the past four years. Bill just assumed that he would be able to fix things with a few critical moves in 2019, Cam was the first mistake and that creted pressure that everyone hoped mac would relieve. Then bringing in Patricia made things worse. Add to that how badly Billmissed with his spending for very poor performers and the pit just got deeper.

The immediate future isn't looking even slightly bright.

So maybe we should be asking what has to be done to become a .500 team in 2024 that can be improved moving forward?

Is Robert Kraft willing to make the necessary moves? Is Bill Belichick the future? More questions than answers on this team.
