Ive been watching OU since around 96' and this is probably the worst I have ever seen. Whats fucking retarded is its full of 4*'s(2 5*'s DB/LB) top to bottom. You give Garry Patterson or Matt Campbell our talent, they control the conference.

I’d like to think with Mikey gone and a lot of young highly touted players they will get better. This is a very young group so while I watch them get torched weekly I have to believe they’ll improve

It's hard to watch. We should be dominating this conference in the way Bama does. We have TOO much talent to be below average on defense. How the fvck can you can be below average with nothing but rivals top 100-250 talent lol

We allowed them 100 more yards than Iowa State did.

Iowa State lost a fumble.
We threw two picks....early.

For the conference standard...push.
For the spoiled OU fan standard...the mustard isn't getting cut.

Ruffin is getting the boat pointed back in the right direction I hope.

But I'll have to disagree on the avg Rivals ranking of our defensive recruits if we're taking into account the Seniors and Juniors compared with the Sophs and Frosh. The '17 and '18 classes were the best we've had in a looooong time defensively, and '19 looks to be even better than those.

I'm not satisfied either...we still are "keeping it in front of us" a little too often.

Although I agree about the young talent, it's not like we havent been pulling in a plethora of 4*'s over the last 5 years on D. I do think my point of putting our talent on TCU or ISU is still valid. They obviously have less talent than we do yet still out perform us yearly on a defensive standpoint.

That being said, you're 100% correct about the future. The BIG12 is fvcked going forward. It's pretty astonishing how well Riley has been recruiting.

I am willing to give it time. It takes time to unfuck what Mike Stoops has fucked up. Right now, Ruffin is having to work with a system of Mike's creation because these guys do not know anything else. And yes they are young and the Sooner (pun intended) Riley gets someone in there permanent in the DC spot the better.

I do not expect a whole lot of improvement his year. Some would be good and I have already seen some, the D is tackling better the thing they were missing against Tech was some pressure from the D line. The QB had all day to pick his receivers and you cannot keep them covered forever. The few time the D line was able to apply some pressure the QB play went down drastically.

The problem is our linebackers and secondary players are small and short. Need to recruit the right guys.

We haven’t had a d lineman that could pressure the QB since Gerald McCoy. Those guys can cover up a lot of problems in the secondary.

The defense is getting better.
Baby steps.

I'm seeing a lot more actual tackling and shit, rather than wiffs, arms, and pushes.

It all went downhill when Longhorns exposed Sooners weaknesses
Nah, that's actually when we started to see some improvement.

Ruffin will get the most out of what he has to work with.

Good enough to win it all? Probably not, even with the best offense in FBS. But it will be fun to try.

I don’t think you’ve paid attention to our defensive recruiting before 2017.

Lol. While we’re certainly playing below our talent level, we have not been pulling a “plethora” of four and five star defensive recruits the last 5 years. 2017 was by far the best defensive class we’ve had in YEARS.

Bowman also played the whole game vs ISU and one half vs OU. I think it's safe to say if he okay tge whole game vs you guys those numbers look different

Kenneth Murray is not small and short and Barnes is the first thing we’ve had resembling a true safety in a long time.

We’ve also been running under sized D-linemen in a garbage 2 gap scheme.
