Just migrated over from ESPN. Here's to hoping the offense keeps it going tonight, Felix be Felix, so the M's can set themselves up to sweep the Rangers tomorrow.

welcome to SportsHoopla.

I'm hoping for a 2-1, 3-2 type of game, seems Felix pitches better in the close games.

Seems when Felix gets a good lead (a rarity yes), he sits on his fastball more going after hitters which is common amongst pitchers I guess. Unlike the past though it's getting hit around more than usual.

He gives up 5 ER or more about 5-6 times a season on avg. He has done so 3 times this year so far, so he is on the same pace. Some days, you just don't have it. Unfortunately, one of those days was when I went to the Angels game and I knew after the 2nd inning he did not have it. His pitches were getting hit hard all over the place, even for outs. Either his FB was not moving as much or his control on the breaking pitches was not there. Late in the game he kept missing low.

I think there is something to having a big lead, as pitchers should go after the hitters to get quick outs, so I am ok with him giving up a couple solo shots, but when he got in trouble in the 5th Wedge should have pulled him. I know he wanted him to have a chance at the win, but it just gave the Angels more momentum. If someone comes in and we don't give up the 3 run jack, then it might have been a different ending.

Unfortunately for Felix, the Mariners may have used up the majority of their quota of runs for the series opener last night.

I guess Felix has always struggled in May. Nice win tonight. Ackley becoming the next Ryan quickly. He stranded 7 all by himself. 3 times a runner on 3rd with one out and no RBI's....wow.

Wish Felix could've gotten a W for that performance.

Good to see the young guys get some big hits tonight, though.

Nice that they pulled it off in extra innings.

Also the fact that they've taken the series.
