To make a long winded explanation short, Cheechoo's skating ability is worse now then it was when he was with the Sharks. Dougie feels it's so bad that Cheechoo no longer has the ability to skate at the NHL level.

From what I have heard if Murray and Wallin had an illegitimate love child it would still skate better and faster than Cheechoo. And I am supposed to believe that Wilson is shitty and clueless for not bringing him in to an already slow team?

I don't necessarily believe that Cheechoo should be brought up... but when you have garbage like McGinn (and other equally shitty players) and your team is kind of a lost cause anyway because your defensemen themselves are defensive liabilities, the potential rewards of bringing up Cheechoo FAR outweigh the downsides (that he can't skate or defend, etc.)

But no, I don't really think Dougie is a bad GM simply because he doesn't bring Cheechoo up right now.
