Didn't get a chance to comment when I saw this on twitter, but why the hell are Read and Laughton being scratched tonight? That line was clicking pretty good IMO.

Umberger is not an NHL caliber player. Period.

Umberger is not an NHL caliber player. Period.

Maybe those two guys are playing better together but at this point I've stopped caring because it doesn't matter what they do with the lines, this team just simply isn't good enough regardless of who they have in the lineup

I'm still irritated. Take umberger and vdv out of the lineup. A bottom 6 of

Read.Laughton.Raffl
Gagner.Weal.PEB

Is not bad at all. Granted you need coots back for that, but still. IMO they are not icing the most competitive team possible.

It's nice to not get swept by Buffalo for the first time in roughly 15 years. Even though they are younger and better than in previous years, that would've been a complete fail. This is also only the second time all season long that we've won by as many as four goals. It is truly refreshing to run away with one for a change.

I think you have to give major props to guys like Raffl, Cousins, Schenn, Gudas, Gagner, Weal and Del Zotto at even strength. A few others as well and our penalty killing, which includes Bellemare, VandeVelde, White, Giroux, the entire defense and Mase. This was a good depth/team win because our top line didn't do much and neither did our power play.

Winning is such a better feeling than losing. Great all around game and when we get a goal from Umberger you know its our night.
