Would they just freaking show up...or are they really this bad? I don't think they are, but this is the third game in a row that nothing on the ice will convince me otherwise.

I just can't believe that they are not able to score. Too much talent to not be able to score.

10 games in and I can't help but think that we would be just as well off with some of the kids....

Sigh the Flyers are going to end up in all likelihood only getting one out of six possible points against Buffalo and New Jersey - playing well against good teams and can't beat teams below them

This is getting pathetic-giving up 31 shots already-and we've only got 14.

I think it's getting to the point where Hextall will have to bring a few up to take over for the dog fuckers.
The trade route is not going to work,as we would more than likely have to give away too much for a small return,or take on part of the existing contract.

This team has the talent-unfortunately the effort is not consistenly there, and we can't play Pittsburgh 82 times.

And he gets a goal after being well rested from his charging penalty-Holy crap.
And our leader still hasn't even gotten a shot on net.

This is going to be an interesting season all over again. We have seen this same movie over and over the last 3-4 seasons now. It's really frustrating and cannot figure it out why we we continue to lose to garbage teams and win against some of the better ones, exception of the Rags. I just don't get it:noidea:

I think the loss of Couts is making a difference - they look lethargic defensively and his presence on the defensive side of the puck makes this team much better - they need him back - special teams was really good on both sides going into the week and it went to shit when he got hurt

Shit ,that means we still have Rocky5,and Rocky Balboa to go through. I'm not counting in Creed either.

Couts is a big loss. These last few days have been brutal losing to the Sabres twice along with the Devils :L. Can we start playing the Pens soon?

The second period last night was flat out embarrassing. I thought we should've been trailing about 5-0 entering the third period. Then, the power play to start the period was a complete waste and the game was basically out of reach by the time we had a decent shift or two with 11 minutes remaining. The only thing we can take from this game is keeping a goalie from getting a shutout for his FIRST career win.

As resilient as this team has shown to be in the past, what bothered me most is that we showed ZERO push back after giving up the goal late in the first. How can we just sit back and completely give up when down only 1-0 or 2-0? We have the talent and skill to be able to score goals in bunches, but it's as if we were standing still for probably 70% of the game. What the fuck is everyone doing? It's absolutely amazing.

I'll give Buffalo credit for really skating hard and staying all over us throughout the second and first half of the third, but to have no response is unacceptable.

Honestly, I can't remember the last time I saw a team get spanked so badly and only lose by a couple goals.

As if there is a plus side... the Flyers are 4 - 4 - 2. This time last year they were playing even worse and had the record to show for it. While I agree that Couts missing is hurting the overall team play I don't see him helping the top line score. Jake and G have been in slumps that go back 40 games into last season. (see Bill Meltzer's column today for the actual numbers). Teams are doubling down on them. The lack of consistent 2nd and 3rd scoring threats makes this team way too easy to handle. It is just a mess.

.... But it's our mess. And we love them.
