We all know the type. The guy who always "has his worst day" and shoots an 85 when he plays with you but somehow "shot a 68 last week when I snuck out of work" and will never ever sign up for a member-guest because they know they're going to get housed with their fake handicap.
Never understood why people claim to shoot better scores than they can actually do. A couple of the people at the course do it, and then when it comes time to play in a tournament using their handicap, they can't compete.
I'm personally in the worst possible spot handicap wise. Carrying like a six based off over very consistent scoring in the high 70s and low 80s. I'll never shoot better than a 75 or worse than an 85. So when I get in a tournament, I can't do shit to help a team. Much better to have the high teens handicapper who will have a birdie, 12 pars, and 7 doubles or triples a round to ham and egg off of.
No need. Statistics tell me that judging from my handicap, in this case lack of handicap, there is a 99% chance that I am better than you. I’ll take those odds
