no one is expecting a quick fix. We still have the same shitty dysfunctional team. But this is a huge step in the right direction

I have heard 2 of Beathard's interviewed on the radio including this one. I love the guy. He built a 2 time SB champion in Miami, then ended his career by going home to California where he assembled a team good enough to be the only Charger team in history to make it to the Super Bowl. And he has said that the Redskins were his favorite spot and he openly roots for them, it's "his team" just like it is our team.

On a side note in both interviews he said he still really likes Robert Griffin and considers him to be a starter in the league in time without question. Just sayin'

I hope he's right about RG3, but he better start showing it this upcoming season or he will be starting for another team.

The challenge is with Robert are his flaws and how fixable they are. Most pressing is his pocket presence. That's a difficult one to teach. Its more a feel. You either sense the pressure and move accordingly in the pocket, or you don't and get blindsided often. So far, Robert has shown very little ability to sense pressure in the pocket. He has to see it to move. Consequently, he has started to look for it. Which means he isn't looking down field. His second challenge is his sense of timing. This is more teachable through practice, but it hasn't really taken yet with him. This could be due as much to his injuries as anything and might be something he eventually improves on. But its up to him. His final major challenge is learning to read defenses.
This is all on him. He needs to spend the time in the film room and not as much in the weight room. Once he realizes that as QB its not as important that he is the best athlete on the field, but the smartest and best prepared mentally, then he may start to make strides to becoming a productive NFL QB.

he also needs to get in the playbook and know how many steps he needs to take in his drop backs , know where his players should be and trust what he sees on the filed and get rid of the ball . too many times on tape he read the defense had the player open but didnt trust it . he didnt throw to the spot the reciever is supposed to be at

Good point. That's all on him, also. He shouldn't need a coach to tell him to work on that.
