I had forgotten all about this until a few moments ago.

One of my goalies last season was moving up to a high level High School program this year and his dad wanted to get better gear but was shocked by the prices. I told him about pro return gear, and how the lesser known the previous owner was, the better deals you get. I told him about the Blocker and Catch Glove I bought my son from Mike Murphy of the Canes. It's the exact same ones that Price and Bobrovski would have been sent, but since the name "Murphy" got stitched in the pair was cheaper than a brand new glove.

Kid showed up to practice in all new white, green and blue kit. Pillows, gloves, all of it. Dad said "Never heard of the guy, Canucks prospect. Great price on the full set. Less than 1000". I asked if it was Arturs Silovs and he was shocked I knew the name.

Like I said, I had forgotten all about it until he just sent me a photo of the kid in his family room wearing the leg pads and gloves watching the game.

PS: Yes, the Mike Murphy gloves I have are the ones he was wearing when he lost a game before giving up a goal.
