He's up to 12 consecutive starts of 7 innings or more and 2 or fewer runs allowed. If he does it again against Baltimore on Thursday, he'll tie the Major League Record. Baltimore has a good offense, so it'll be a challenge, but if anybody can do it, it's Felix. It's a shame that he is only 7-1 in those starts. He could easily have been 12-0 in that stretch if the offense had either decided to show up at all or decided to show up earlier than they did, leaving him with four no-decisions and a loss in that span.

They have to go get a bat and make a push for even one of the wild card spots. It's insane how great of a pitcher he is and has never gotten to showcase his skills in the post season after 10 years of brilliance.

Also, this:

One more start like that, and he breaks the record set by Chief Bender in 1907

Chris Sale gave up 4 runs in 6 innings against the Twins tonight
Adam Wainwright gave up 7 runs in 5.1 innings to the Brewers as well.

Just kind of puts into perspective the run Felix in on right now. A hiccup usually always happens once every month or so even to the best. Incredibly impressive that this streak is still going since Mid May

At some point, it's going to be impossible to find the words to describe Felix's season. He's approaching Pedro in 2000 territory and even Pedro had a couple of games that year where he gave up five runs and six runs. Felix hasn't given up more than four runs in a game all year and he's only done that once so far.

What's odd about Felix's streak is that it started halfway through what wound up being his worst month of the season in terms of total runs allowed, ERA, walks, strikeouts (not counting his one start in March in which he had 11 K's), hits and opponent batting average. Another oddity is that, despite May being his worst statistical month, he finished the month with a 4-0 record, which is his only undefeated month (again, not counting March because he only made the one start that month) of the season.

Remember when people were asking what was wrong with him in mid-May when his velocity seemed to be down, his ERA went up by more than half a run in his previous three starts and he was "only" averaging about 6 innings per start over his previous four starts dating back to April 26th? That turned out to be a minor, temporary glitch.

There was word that Felix had the flu or something early on in the season. This steak of his started once he got healthy, I can only imagine what his season would look like if he had been healthy all year.

or his win total with a halfway decent offense. He should have 18-19 wins right now
