Eagles in Talks with Dolphins RE: Byron Maxwell Trade

The #Dolphins are in talks with the #Eagles on a trade for CB Byron Maxwell, source said. It's in the works,


Trade would give the Eagles 4.9 million more under the cap. Cap hit of 4.8 million.

Rey, I will be ecstatic if we get a 4th! The more picks, the better ammo to move up to get back a 2nd rounder.
If Carroll is healthy, pairing him with Rowe, we'd have 2 solid CBs, plus whoever else we get to replace Maxwell.

That is a great deal for us. Throwing in Stills as well.
Stills is a burner and is very young. He has spped of a DeSean Jackson. I think Pederson would kill for this deal.. A 4th rounder and a good WR and yet unload some salary. Not sure what Stills salary is? Anyway, here is Stills combine.

I wonder how much Carroll is going to cost coming off a broken ankle. 2-3 mill for next year, maybe 3yrs 14-16 mill total. Seems like a move is more for 2017 to free up money to sign Fletcher Cox, being the big dollars won't happen on his deal until 2017. I also think the Eagles may be interested in Leodis Mckelvin who played well for Schwartz in the one year he was in Buff and could also double as a returner. That would allow the Eagles to move on from Darrin Sproles

Not sure? But the dude is a speedster. We would have our guy to spread opposing defenses. The funny part is that he is only like 23 y/o. Howie is starting to turn me into a believer all of the sudden. If only he hires a personnel man and makes solid draft picks, he will make me take back all of the negative remarks from the past. He has done a remarkable job so far during this short offseason. If he pulls this trade off, holy smokes he is the man.

I think Stills may be a head case. This would be his third team already, which is telling. But hey, it's about unloading a bad contract on some sucker.

While Maxwell was way overpaid to begin with it just adds another hole to the team.

Is a good deal as far as a rebuild would go though. Realizing they screwed the pooch by thinking he was a #1 CB to begin with and cutting ties now is a good thing.

I just looked and Caplan did NOT report 4th rounder and Kenny Stills. That was a fake twitter account. So, we don't know what if anything they got. Probably a conditional 7th, basically nothing.

If we can trade back in the 1st, and still get a good CB, and then draft the best OL available in the 2nd, we'd be in pretty god shape, assuming we sign at least one good FA OL.
