Can you imagine if they do cancel all college football? EA Sports had a chance to put out a new version of the game, and likely would have sold a copy to just about every college football fan under the age of 50.

They dropped the ball here!

Wouldn't people almost want to buy those games even more now? If you can't get the real thing, then get your college football fix by gaming it. I haven't been paying much attention, but were they planning on finally putting out a new EA college gameday game this year?

They are teasing everyone with a mini college game inside the new Madden game. I suspect they will have a college only game next year.

Oh gotcha. I heard some rumors that they would finally be able to put out a game after a recent court ruling would allow them to do so finally (or something like that). I just assumed EA would have jumped on that quickly. All they really have to do is use the old platform, update the team stats, and make millions. Easy money right? Makes me think there has to be something preventing them from doing so legally.

new Madden game
Wait... is there actually such a thing as a "new Madden game"?

...It has looked to me that it's been the same game every year repackaged with a different cover player on it to trick sheeple into dropping another $60 on the same game they overpaid for last year.

Really hope people buy thinking this is a legit CFB game.

Closest you can get is with a modded NCAA 14 called "NCAA Revamped". Pretty legit with updated rosters, uniforms, stadiums but requires a modded PS3/XBox and NCAA 14 which would run you over a $100+ if you can find an honest seller.

Or
NCAA 13 is no worst than 14(except there's a bigger community with more people to make updates) and only run you $20

It's been that way for a long time now. it's the exclusivity bullshit that makes it happen.

Have yall played Madden? I wouldn’t buy that crap with NCAA logo’s slapped onto the cover. You are better off playing the modded version of 14 FOR FREE.

Unless you like legalized child gambling and awful gameplay, you should just go check out the modded version. There would be no dynasty mode or recruiting, they would have a 5 year plan where they ‘might add’ features back, and charge you 100 bucks with (gasp) 3 MUT packs. You first punter to put at quarterback is free.

Yeah I stopped buying Madden a few years ago and I don't miss it.. When I do have an itch I'll fire up Madden 18 and play for an hour or so and I'm good.

The licensing fee it has to pay to the NFL is the reason why they have to come out every single year with a new one. They just need to treat it like GTA5 and do updates. That game has been out for like what? 5 years on PS4 and it's still one of the top selling games.

I still usually buy Madden for my football fix but it annoys the hell out of me that they still aren't making any updates to franchise mode. Do people these days really only play MUT and the career mode? I enjoy MLB The Show's career mode but NBA 2K and Madden's career modes have been awful lately. They keep trying to make it into a movie where you play as some pre-determined character with a cheesy name and storyline instead of letting you have a realistic experience. I don't want Lebron or Spike Lee "directing" my video games

One of the best parts of the NCAA games was being able to work your way up as a coordinator at a small school to the top as a HC in a major conference. If Madden did something like let you start off as a position coach and work your way up the ladder that would be something I'd enjoy playing if done right.

7 years. Crazy how long that game has lasted. A lot of people do Role Play in it now too.
