Was this a trot down memory lane? I guess before my time.

Yup, an ESPN asshole troll named TitoMac. He said we'd all see the light in a couple years when Matt Cain would remain a "sub .500" pitcher who had sphincter (or in tito-ese, spinkter) issues in tough games and Jonathan Sanchez was going to be a CY candidate year in and year out. Also said Schierholtz was a waste of space (kind of right) and that Velez was a 5 tool player who if he were to leadoff, would get his 3rd and 4th hitters in the lineup nothing but fastballs down the middle (to respect Velez' speed).

Ah. ESPN Boards. I read posts for about 2 days many years ago and decided that it was a complete waste of my time and never participated.

You know how Runboard was a Disney exodus from about '05 or '06? Well we are the '10 version of that.

I thought you knew that...

Yeah, but since I spent almost no time on the ESPN boards, I'm not familiar with TitoMac or any "inside jokes" or references related to that board.

Sanchez reminded me a lot of Estes : million dollar arm, 10 cent head. Either would be cruising along, just *dealing*, (say, tossing a no-hitter thru 4 innings) and something would get under his skin (an error, a non-strike call from the ump, whatever) and both would just unravel and give up 3 or 4 runs in that inning.

What's crazy is I think he has better stuff than Estes ever did. His stuff is electric. He just can't consistently throw the ball where he wants to. Shame.

He'll get another chance or two or seven. Lefties with his stuff aren't generally available for cheap. But I doubt he ever figures it out.
