Brett Bochy has been pitching well as of late. The last couple of years he has faded down the stretch. I wonder if he'll get called up in September. He has become the 2nd best relief pitcher on the RiverCats.

Yes, Broadway is clearly the best. But that bully was stacked to begin the year: Strickland, Osich, Okert, Broadway, Bochy, Cordier and Cody Hall.

Cordier is now with New Orleans

Arenado's D is REALLY bad. Surprising seeing as his brother is almost Brooks Robinson-good. Hopefully he will grow into it. His bat seems to have potential, though.

Has anyone heard anything about Cristian Paulino, an outfielder for Augusta? I noticed his hasn't played a game in awhile and so I checked his player page on the team's roster and it turns out he's not played since June 18th! Normally, that means that the player has been either (a) reassigned to another roster, (b) placed on the disabled list, (c) been released or (d) put on a restricted or suspended list. However, he's still listed as active on their roster. The guy was having a pretty good season. What happened to him?

I will keep looking. Found this article on preseason.

Cristian Paulino « Inside the San Jose Giants

This from July 20, 2015

Notes from the Sally: the Augusta Greenjackets of the San Francisco Giants sytem - Minor
League Ball

Cristian Paulino- Last but not least is Paulino. He hails from the Dominican Republic and made his stateside debut as a 19 year old back in 2011. What I like about him is his bat speed. He hits line drives from gap to gap, and despite being listed at 5'10 170 lb's he's shown he can hit a ball over the wall to his pull side and the other way.
What I don't like is he's about to turn 24, and in Low-A, and he's currently missing time because of a hamstring injury. Also despite seeing time in center in previous seasons and getting a few looks at second base mostly he's played left field. He's a long shot but he can really hit.

This from July 4, 2015

GreenJackets: July 4 festivities kick off homestand | The Augusta Chronicle

The GreenJackets enter the homestand with a league-low .244 average. BecauseCristian Paulino is on the disabled list (and recently went to the Giants' Arizona complex),

Thanks Stokes, you are a wealth of information!

Interesting that he would not be listed on the disabled list on the team roster. Typically, they are pretty good at updating that.

The only thing I saw in that post was that Arroyo played (and had a BIG game, to boot).

Everything else is noise.

That was great news to me, too.

But you're a hard man if you didn't notice Mac's and Blach's performances tonight, too.

I understand that Arroyo is Craw/Panik 2.0, though, and could be a foundational player for us in 2017 or 2018.

As good as Panik is, Arroyo has SOOO much more potential.

Panik is an elite #2. Arroyo CAN BE an elite #3 with organizational leadership. Think Posey-light.

That said, put a gun to my head today and tell me to pick one, I take Panik. Panik is a proven All-Star, a proven elite #2, a proven champ, a proven GG-level defender.

Sneak preview of tonight:

Jordan Johnson is dealing again. Same stuff, 6/0 K/BB ration in 6.1 innings. No runs.

Also, Parker and Williamson went back-to-back JACKS. Mac's was a moon shot.

Can any of you fill me in on Arroyo's potential? I saw Cal talk about him earlier in this page and the way he sounds to me is very similar to the hype for Hanley Ramirez when he was a prospect for BOS. Anyone want to give me a scouting report/projection based on what you know/seen of the guy, including best guesses regarding what we do with him when he's really to get his cuppo. Is he primarily a middle INF or does he have defensive chops to also play in the OF?
