If they win out?

Baylor finishes the season with 5 games, against likely 4 ranked teams:

Oklahoma (10)
Texas Tech (15)
Oklahoma State (18)
TCU (NR)
Texas (will likely be ranked)

Ohio State finishes with 4 games, with at most 1 ranked team:

Purdue (NR)
Illinois (NR)
Indiana (NR)
Michigan (21 - likely won't hold up)

* Thoughts???

Without a doubt...and wouldn't it be interesting if Bama, Oregon, tOSU and Baylor win out, and we see a Baylor/tOSU bowl game. That would be fun to watch.

No chance in hell. I think 3 or maybe 4 teams tOSU has already played are better than 3 or 4 game baylor has left plus tOSU has Michigan left.

Plus this only matters if they go undefeated. Not saying it won't happen, but it will be a tough task. I alao think we are overlooking the schedule. I believe Okie and Texas are legit and the others are just meh above average teams.

I'm assuming you mean Iowa, northwestern (or penn state), and Wisconsin 14-9 (14-8) w/ one ranked team now ( Wisconsin). vs Oklahoma, Texas tech, and Oklahoma state 20-3, all 3 ranked.....:L

Agreed. I don't think Baylor will go undefeated. All 5 of their games are tough. Even @TCU is no gimme.

However, if they do happen to win out, I think Baylor has to and will jump TOSU.

Almost ANY game in conference play is going to be tough, especially when the other team is undefeated, they are running on adrenaline for 2 quarters. Anything could happen. They could win out or they could lose 3 outta 5. I am interested in how they handle this stretch and it starts today

You can't go by record really. It was just my opinion, by season end I think Iowa, Michigan, Wisconsin, and Northwestern could give these teams games ir are just as good: Okie St, Okie, TCU, Tech. Obviously matchups is a key, but those teams are as good as those (obviously NW healthy)

tOSU gets the automatic name recognition over Baylor in the Midwest and eastern media.

If Sparty wins out then the CCG would give tOSU a boost (if still undefeated).

Best case scenario for a down B-one-G IMO..

Yes, it does. However Baylor will likely finish with a higher SOS, and having played more ranked teams, and having played them at the end of the schedule which is important for voting.

Yeah, we should never use actual game results for comparison.

I didn't say never. If we went by this and this alone to determine what team was better, it would be a joke.

So UConn, West Michigan, East Michigan, UMass and Kent St are all better than tOSU too.

You sound like a 10 yr old

Ohio State was in a hard fought game in the 3rd quarter with Buffalo.

There was a bad penalty that kept Buffalo from getting a critical turnover and a real threat to win.

That game was a big reason why Ohio State fell from their #2 start.

.............

I know each game is different.

But if we are talking razor thin margins, every little thing has to be considered.

Baylor annihilated Buffalo.

Ohio State was still in a very dicey game in the 3rd quarter.

It is not a huge thing......

But, the voters would be debating a very very tough and close debate.

The tiny little things like the Buffalo game would matter.
