Absolutely guarantee it and Donnie Baseball might just end up in the Gaslamp.
Most of the early rumors have Donnie going to Florida.

What was his relationship with Kemp when they were there?

Dusty is a clubhouse guy, end of sentance. He brings absolutely nothing else to the table.

His in-game is almost as bad as Donnie and he is completely clueless as to how to handle a pitching staff.

He would be perfect in LA :)

Didn't even think about that.

but his tenures with the giants & cubs tho....:D

btw: I really don't think he's on their short list anyway...

I'd be shocked if he was given even serious consideration.

It's going to be very interesting to see what they decide.

I think Bud Black would be absolutely perfect.

BTW, Padres pitching coach Darren Balsley (considered by many to be one of the true elites) is available.

I found this on Darren Balsley.

Q&A: Padres pitching coach Darren Balsley

  • Q: You were here before when Bud Black replaced Bruce Bochy, so you’ve survived managerial changes before. Your two-year contract is up after this season. What does the future have in store for you?
  • A: I’ve never talked about contracts until after the season is over. Growing up in San Diego and being a Padres fan, I’d like to be here as long as they’d have me. Selfishly, I want to be here when the Padres win the World Series. It would be nice to see in uniform. It would be difficult for me to leave our guys, too. I see them making strides and I’d like to continue to work with them.

How dare he not be able to manage a team with a $300MM payroll that still lacks a bullpen and a clutch bat!

This year was NOT Mattingly's fault. That roster was heavily flawed! But last year should have been the year he was canned. He was way more at fault in 2014. Regardless, it's time to get a better guy in there. It's also time for Andrew Friedman to realize that they aren't getting far with Brett Anderson as the #3 starter.

You don't WANT Mattingly. He's a terrible manager. And Kapler makes no sense for the Dodgers. Go get someone with some experience.

I have to ask this: at what point does he stop being referred to as "Donnie Baseball?"

Sidebar but the 300 mil isn't all tied up in current players. Matt Kemp is still partially paid by the Dodgers for example.

I might be tempted to manage these fools......I'd bring in @Vitamike as my pitching coach.

Just did a quick google search and Black is the odds on favorite to get the Dodgers job.
