Please explain to me your fascination with paying a now average receiver top tier dollars?
Jerry and he agreed to a contract at the time. Dez is not your average receiver. He had an off year for sure, but you don't just cut him for nothing. Should have traded him or asked for a possible pay cut before free-agency. It is not about a fasination with paying him. You don't think another team won't jump and sign this so called average reciever??

It's not just signing him, it's the total cost that is the problem...at 2 years and a $33M cap hit I don't think any team would even consider signing Dez. If you throw the dead money out and look just at salary i struggle to see him getting $25M over 2 years either. But will a team sign him? Absolutely, but probably at a salary closer to what we are trying to negotiate.

I was just talking about another team signing him, not the salary. I don't see the $25 over two as well with most teams.

Dez isn't average talent. His production has been average.
Average talent is T Will, not Dez Bryant

Agreed! In fact, if used in a specific way, one might even go so far as to say that no one is better at what he can do. For this reason, I wouldn't at all mind keeping him for the right price, say about 7-8 mill.

Our mistake was thinking that he was going to be a true #1 WR akin to Megatron and then paying him as such while filling in around him less than average WRs.

We are about to find out who will jump on him because he's about to get cut. As to your comment about that being an opinion, if we were on the Titanic when it struck the iceberg, we might just be giving an opinion that the boat was gonna sink, but it would be a pretty damn strong opinion....

Dez may have been playing average, but he was still a threat. Who is our threat now?
