News broke a bit eariler on NFL Live on ESPN that DeMarco Murray has officially retired from the NFL.

It's a shame that his inconsistencies caught up with him after a good run with the Cowboys and his run in his first year with the Titans. Health and family-wise, he made a smart decision to end his career on a good note.

I guess I'd say this is surprising. I would think he could sign with someone and still play for a couple years.
His net worth is $3 million, which isn't too much for an NFL player.

I'm going to guess that this isn't the last we'll see him on the gridiron. Unless he suffered an injury of some sort during training?

Wonder with more and more players getting concussions and possible CTE that players will start retiring before 30 or right at 30 more than in the past years

Murray: good player, great guy and screwed the Eagles. That's the trifecta

I would have kicked the tires with Buffalo after the Shady incident but he is his own person.

Enjoy that Retirement good sir.

The money wasn't enough to put his 30 year old body through the hell of an NFL season.

That last bit was primarily Chip Kelly's fault. May he rot in hell.

I liked Murray and am glad to see him go out early in his hopes that he can retain cognitive functioning past 50.

To a point. Several websites had his worth around $3 million so I figure it is close.
