They all knew they'd get a free pass this year since they were so awful the year prior it was almost unavoidable they'd "take a step forward" this year.

This series was a shit storm! It reminded me of last year when goldy was injured/in a slump. This team couldn't buy offense. Hopefully our pitching and offense wake up in the second half.

Couldn't ask for a better schedule to kick off the second half. The first ten are at home:
SF for 3 (very winnable series)
MIA for 3 (they suck)
MIL for 4 (They suck)
Then on the road:
SEA for 3 (they suck)
HOU for 3 (they are over-rated and will spend second half falling down to .500)

They should shoot for going 11-5 here. But I'm sure it will be somewhere more toward 7-9.

Still waiting for a Chris sale trade...

Open your pocketbooks and pay the man. We need an ace in the worst way and the guy will give you a quality start just by rolling out of bed. The farm system is fine right now. We need to strike while the iron is hot.

Is he really on the block? The White Sox would be idiots to trade him. He's an Ace on a fairly team-friendly deal that goes through 2017.

Actually he is signed through 2019. Chris Sale agrees to $32.5 million contract with White Sox | HardballTalk The White Sox have two years of team options in 2018 and 2019.

Sale is currently 8-4 with a 2.72 ERA, a 0.95 WHIP, 157 strikeouts, and 23 BB. He is only 26 and signed for five years including 2015. He could be the ace of the Diamondbacks' staff for the foreseeable future while Goldschmidt leads on the field. I can picture a Sale, Corbin, Ray, Anderson, and Bradley rotation. The order can change depending on who does the best. But seriously, this team has no reliable ace right now and has not since Brandon Webb was on the team.

When I think of Diamondbacks history, this is what I think of. The team needs to do whatever it can to get itself back to this kind of relevance.

Couldn't agree more. Sale is awesome, but has there been any talk about this even being possible?? Felix Hernandez is great too.
