To start the day, we have 64, 75 and 96. Should be a fun day.

I see ol Woody Paige is saying Broncos are looking to make a significant move up as someone they have with a first round grade is still on the board.

LGM, says we move down from 64 to selfishly garner more picks.

I have us moving up about 12 spots to draft McCreary.

Jess has us moving back to late third.

MH has us taking USC’s Jackson.

Mingo has his eyes on Muma.

DC has Paschal at Edge.

Fem has Cincy’s CB Bryant.

Pump needs to re-do his because his pick at 64 went at 22. ;)

Listo has us going w Zach Tom.

I’m not sure it’s his entry, but our own Crush has us going OT with Abe Lucas.

Anyone have last minute additions or changes?

The amount of talent pushing into the 2nd and 3rd rounds is ridiculous. Denver has a great chance to solidify and improve their team. This was the best draft to have traded away some picks for a QB, it's the one position that isn't stacked in the draft.

I am in the move down and pick up extra assets group. ;)

But there are a ton of good options available at the moment.
Come on, Ben. We need more than that from you! Move down. How far? For pick(s) next year? ;)

PS - awesome to see your name pop up here!

Depends on the rest of the plan. If we are moving players(Cush, Risner, Reed, etc) for draft capital next year, then I would go mid third round to pick up a day 3 pick or 2.

If we are keeping our guys, then I would look to try to pry some 2023 picks.

@BHamita What's good Ben? Sorry, meant to respond to you the other day on messenger but was swamped at work. Just remembered you had sent me a message.

Exactly - for salary cap management teams have to plan draft pick replacements for expiring contracts. I suspect - the Broncos will some how collect some more 2023 picks.

I am thinking if we are patient the board may fall our way. The meat of this draft is in the middle rounds based on what I have heard, and the fact that only 1 QB was drafted in round 1, will not help.

i want Paton to target a player and get that player.

has to be a few players they are salivating about right now in the draft room

don’t need 9 picks

In principle I agree with this - unless we can get something for next year. Only having 4 picks next year is not enough.

Only 3 teams had extra 3rds-5th 2023 picks.

Now that Fangio isn't here it's time to get a LB who cover TEs - I think that is Muma.

Greedy. You just want to win the draft contest.

I think if we are being honest there are maybe 2 starting positions that a rookie could potentially fill, and the are ILB and RT.

This draft class I think needs to be a class to develop for next year as this team will likely look very different.
Chubb likely gone
Darby likely gone
Gordon likely gone
Purcell likely gone
Glasgow likely gone
KJack likely gone

I am sure I have missed some guys that will not be here in 2023, but are being counted on to contribute in 2022.

The fact is you can’t count on late 2nd and 3rd round picks to contribute from day 1. It does happen, but counting on that level of contribution day 1 would be foolish in my mind.

Do we need 9 picks in this draft? No. Do we need to find guys in this draft that will be ready for a greater role next year? Yes. Having a franchise QB is great but there are downsides when you have to pay him. Drafting becomes that much more important when you get there.
