Dalton Expectations Friday

Suh is a freaking beast and our interior line is weak. His first game, gitters, rookie WR, new offense with a coordinator trying to get calls in, NFL speed, ect.

I don't see an interception but he likely won't do much either, with the dominant defensive tackles that the Lions have.

I'll say somewhere around 50% also, likely 12-14 attempts. I'll say not TDs or INTs. Coaches will put him in position with short passes to avoid picks.

I'd really like to see this team clean up their problems with false starts and also have a better tempo coming out of the huddle. Those should be two priorities coming into the season. It's going to be tough enough to run a good offense with a rookie quarterback - We can't make it tougher with stupid penalties.

I wonder if they're going to play the offensive starters more than 1 quarter considering the youth, new offense, and short offseason. Generally, the first preseason game, starters play no more than a couple series.

They're saying Andre Smith particularly is getting a lot of false starts in camp.

I'm not expecting much. I think I'm one of the few that's not buying the Dalton hype. I expect he;ll look much like Billy Volek in his first NFL action. Two years from now I expect he'll still look much like Billy Volek. Seems like a good guy. Just dont think that he's 'the guy'.

I hope you're wrong, though I doubt it.....looking into my crystal ball I see Mike Brown passing on Andrew Luck even though we'll have "earned" the right to pick him because "we already have our quarterback of the future."

I'm definitely pulling for Dalton. I hope he's the next Drew Brees. But I think more than likely we'll be in a similar situation as Cleveland is with McCoy. The guy isnt terrible, but he doesnt really have a skill set that will strike fear into opposing DC's. So you dont have a void at QB but you dont ahve a franchise QB either (which I think you need to win in the NFL). Regardless I'm looking forward to seeing how Dalton looks. I hope that he proves me wrong. I did see that my boy RYan Mallett tore up the Jags B team last night and led 4 td drives in one half.

I'm not too high on Dalton either. I think he's got potential to be an average, middle of the road QB, but I just don't see him ever being Drew Brees. I hope I'm wrong.

Mike Brown, remember? He'll committ to Dalton, no matter what.....Luck will never be an option.

Mikey has too much devotion and loyalty to HIS QB's to select Luck. Dalton will be given 3 years to prove he is getting to where the team needs him to be before they start looking for a replacement.

Everyone can forget about LUck, even if we finish with the #1 overall pick. Not going to happen now.

Dalton was a better leader than McCoy...I also think Dalton has a better arm than McCoy as well.... Just my 2 cents...But we sure as hell are about to find out....
