The Rams would be one of the best teams in the league if they had a passing game. Mariota won't help that much. They need a real passer.

The only way I would trade 3 1st rd picks for Mariota is if I was getting 3 2nd rd picks in return. If we could do a creative trade like that I would be fine. Our last 10 years of #1 picks have been Horrible anyway. We might do better with 2 2nd rd picks for the next 3 years.

I've watched tons of Mariota over the past few seasons ... and while it's true that Oregon does have many gadget plays that produce inflated numbers, Mariota is very good at reading defenses pre-snap and can make the pro throws. Will there be an adjustment period where he will have to make more of the pro type throws than he has at Oregon? Of course ... but the kid has plenty of arm, agility and the right mind set and dedication to improve his craft. I don't buy the whole dropping garbage ... I still see him going top 3 when the dust settles and likely #1 unless Winston blows away the Bucs in the interview process. The Bucs would be nuts imo to take anyone other than Mariota or Winston at 1.


As far as the Eagles go, I don't see Chip trading up to get him. If Chip wants a QB who fits his scheme (assuming we take care of the D in free agency), I think it will be Hundley who has an excellent arm and isn't far behind Mariota in athleticism. He also played in a system where more traditional "pro-type" throws were required.
