IMO, this is not a Mets fan or page thing. This is a whole site thing. We have way too many people here with too little free time, and/or, we have far too many people producing work and work instead of posting.

It's a crime I tell ya'...........

OF Juan Lagares was named the NL player of the week....but TC has him sitting for Kirk...lol
NEW YORK -- Juan Lagares has been named NL Player of the Week for his weekend performance against the Philadelphia Phillies.

The rookie outfielder hit .700 (7-for-10) with a homer and five RBIs in the All-Star-break-shortened week.

Lagares, 24, had been hitting .234 entering the break.

He is not in the lineup Monday with the Mets facing a right-handed pitcher.

and Ike is in too? smh

Sorry, been crazy busy at work and wasn't around all weekend. I'll try to post when I can. Approaching the trade deadline I'll be paying way more attention to the Mets as I think some moves for the future could be made.

today's fun facts...

  1. Since 1921, Dan Uggla, B.J. Upton, and Justin Upton are the first trio of teammates to each strikeout 100+ times before the 100th game of the season.
  2. David Wright has more hits (156), doubles (33), home runs (32), and RBI (82) against the Braves than any other player in Mets history.

Look at where the Amazing Mets are in the standings and you wonder why this thread is slow:)

My very best to my childhood team, the Mets. Some VERY hard years growing up in a neighborhood with mostly Yankees fans.

I do. I say and think that as, IMO, a real fan does not let the standings in the way of their fandom. A real fan follows his team every year, win or lose.

But, that is just what I expect of myself. Are you saying that I am then expecting too much?

Mets on the board 1st.....Byrd triple and Ike rbi single....1-zip after 4.

Buck and Kirk shouldn't be taking AB's from Recker and Lagares, regardless of the pitching rightie/lefty matchups....but hopefully Buck is being shopped.

Buck has been pretty terrible. Gee when he is on is as solid as they come. This team just really needs reliable bats. I think we can improve the pen from within the organization. Can't wait to see the young arms come up the second half of the season.
