This may not actually start until tomorrow night, but I need to get my mind off the disappointment
of not getting a win with Jon Lester starting.

The team initials on both sides of the match-up fit the nicknames I've come up with
very well, don't they.

Don't remember just when I came up with them, but it was at least a week ago.

Starting for the Wrong Sox tonight will be 23 year old Hector Santiago.

Technically he's a 3d year man but he only pitched 5 1/3 innings his rookie year.

His season WHIP is 1.331 with a K/BB ratio of 2.10.

For our Right Sox it will be Ryan Dempster making his 26th start of the season.

WHIP of 1.466, K/BB ratio of 2.06.

Haven't checked yet but wouldn't be surprised if SportsHoopla Bookie has the Wrong Sox as
tonight's favorite. I'll put a little vCash on our team whoever's favored. And hope I won't be the only
Right Sox fan doing it. And even more that Dempster won't be in "Dumpster" mode.

Not a good 1st inning for Dempster. He lucked out getting that DP.

It's only 1 inning, thank goodness.

I'm tempted to gripe about not scoring more that inning, but we did get the lead.

Let's not settle for a singleton, Right Sox!

WE WANT MORE!

Where was my mind when I posted my last?

It was Middlebrooks, not Drew, who made the smart throw.

It was my team that did it however, and that's the most important thing.

GOT to love Koji if you live in New England, don't you?

82% of his pitches were strikes this game!

See you tomorrow!

Tonight Jake Peavy hopefully will keep his season WHIP below 1.00 It's 0.980 coming in.
His K/BB ratio of 5.5 is actually below his career 8.7!

I'm still going to miss Iglesias, but he and Steven Drew are reconciling me to the trade.

His scheduled opposing starter is 28 year old John Danks, who has spent his entire MLB career with the Wrong Sox. Season WHIP 1.188, season K/BB ratio 6.2

He's 11-26 over the last 3 seasons, though what his team's record over that span is I don't know.

Does anyone here know of a site where I can find past-season standings?

None of the sites I've tried this morning have them.

Thanks in advance.

It turns out that the Wrong Sox win percentage over that span was only .481.

Which is still better than Danks' .297, but there's still the chance he'll be better than his norm tonight.

let's hope he's worse! :hope:

Day off for Salty tonight is something I'm glad to see.

We don't want to wear him out in the regular season.

It's a lead, though we should have scored more runs that inning, IMO.

BTW, our win percentage this season in the games we score first would
produce 126 wins over a 162 game game full-season schedule.

More proof that if you keep putting men on base you WON'T strand all of them!

Remember that, people, next time you're tempted to ripe about stranding runners!
