The apt Kennedy comparison to "reasonable speculation" that Profar or Walker will be studs is speculation that Kennedy will be better over his next 3 years than over his past 3..... as most players do better from age 28-30 than they do 25-27.

Saying Kennedy will be better the next 3 years than he was the past 3 is "reasonable speculation" akin to making speculations about Profar.... aka, you're speculating he'll do something that he hasn't yet shown he can do, but many people in their situations (Kennedy entering his prime, and Profar being a top prospect) end up doing

But that's not what I speculated. I speculated the realistic floor for Kennedy, not the realistic ceiling

Nothing that I speculated Kennedy to do is anything he hasn't already done for a 3 year sample size. If he exceeds what he did the past 3 years? Then he'll be a more productive player too, not just one that does what Marcum does over 40% more innings

The point being, when Kennedy is Marcum's age, a realistic floor for what his numbers will look like is similar production to Marcum, but over a lot more innings

A football team doesn't have 5 separate starting quarterback Rotating every week.

So that's the first problem

Are you suggesting an Ace that only pitches one out of every 5 games has more influence towards his teams w/l record than a QB in football?

The NO 1 starter could only be as important as a Starting QB if they started every single game.

or are you talking in a pure 1 game sense. The Set up Man is the 12th most important Position in a given game. Since the 4 other starting pitchers won't play as important roles in a one game setting..
