Wong is probably just at the end of his fine career, like 2008 Vidro. As much as I loathed Figgins, he still had a diverse skillset when his bat was silent.

Figgins freaked about getting pinch hit for in his first few games as a Mariner and got into a fight with Wakamatsu for calling him lazy.

Wong doesn't strike me as being that much of a turd attitude-wise, but I'm really wondering if he'll even manage to be as "successful" as Figgins was with us offensively.

Wong is probably just at the end of his fine career, like 2008 Vidro. As much as I loathed Figgins, he still had a diverse skillset when his bat was silent.

He got pouty within a few weeks of being a Mariner (and talked about his "mistreatment" in those first few weeks several years later in a whacked out interview) and was sitting fat and happy on that contract while putting minimal effort into his play,. That was reflected in his defensive stats with us. I didn't care for Wakamatsu, but he was 100% correct calling Figgins lazy and pulling him for barely going after balls in play. Just a total turd with absolutely zero redeeming qualities to speak of with us.
