He wasn't trying to steal, it's actually worse than that. He got caught just leading too far and sort of panicked and didn't just dive back at the bag.

You are right ... that is even more of a bone headed play. Running on contact with 2 outs, you score on every hit to the outfield except a shallow line drive 1 hopper directly to a corner outfielder.

A lot of stupid mistakes that should NEVER happen on a pro ballfield.

Maybe after the Frazier debacle and now Wong, we will stop getting fringe veteran 2B's and go out and get an actual stud instead.
Really wanted the M's to go after Carlos Correia in both of the last 2 offseasons, even if he is a filthy cheater. Don't know if he'd be willing to play second or not, but he'd be a huge upgrade at short regardless. But the M's continue to settle for mediocrity at best in the middle of the infield.

That's his 3rd base running gaf so far this young season... He needs to cut it out...

Wouldn’t matter if he wants to play SS. JP Crawford should be the 2B if they can sign a legit SS.

Julio taking way too many 1st pitch strikes and watching them without even really making a check swing attempt or anything.

I saw this trend start during the road trip after the initial homestand to kick off the season.

Also big Dumper really looked like he has hurt his glove hand / thumb on the swing and miss attempt late in the game.
Looked like he was in alot of discomfort ( he had surgery in that same hand off season recently )

Wong needs to start doing something ... ANYTHING as he is a black hole as is our DH position. combined less than .200 batting avg.
That is ridiculous that near 23% of your line up ( 2 out of 9 guys ) are guarantee outs every trip to the plate.

Good stuff. I admit I turned it off early. I haven't seen a full game all year. I hope I get more into it as the season goes. I am less negative on them this year maybe because my disappointment level in the offseason has reached it point of whatever.

This Julio thing is why I was miffed at giving him that contract 80 some games into his career. I think he will be good, but wy too early to know if he will be elite. But good for him. He is set for life.

Would love to see Rodriguez and Kelenic have a night. I feel like it would set a tone. Okay, I just made that up and have no idea what it means, but it would still be cool.

Fan base is staying away from the game(s) lately ( Brewers series )

It is something more than the pissy weather. Mariners brass bragging 6 weeks ago how they have the largest season ticket holder numbers this 2023 season than they have in 15-20 years.

Yet if you saw last nights game barely anyone there and tickets lower level were selling for 2-3-4-$5ea on stubhub by the 100's of listings.

Almost as bad tonite. You cannot give away a Mariners ticket right now to the Brewers series.

Everyone must be waiting for the next bobblehead game (*laugh)

That was fast

Didn't even make it to the puck drop for the Kraken before giving up a lead
