Watching him right now on WTBS. Best dry comic ever? And the best ending to a series ever had to be his ending to the Newhart series.

Agreed. The "funny" thing is that I also think that Don Knotts was possibly the best comic ever when he was on the Andy Griffith show. However, he wasn't able to carry that onto other shows. Newhart nailed it on every show he was on.

Meh, Knotts was pretty good on "Threes Company". Oh and I agree Newhart's good. Still going strong at 86.
