Carroll is a good coach but I give a majority of the success to Wilson and some to the LOB. Put another QB in there, and I bet they miss the playoffs mostly every year. Cleveland had a real good team only a few seasons removed where they went to the playoffs 4 years in a row and won the AFCN 3 of those years and 1 playoff in 5 years. And Pats were decent and had the highes paid QB Bledsoe who went 5-13 before the injury and NE missed the playoffs in 08 and this year also. I need to see it, and haven't yet. Don't get me wrong Bill has one of the best defensive minds, along with say a Buddy Ryan . Him under Parcells was a deadly duo

To that point I'd say every good coach needs a very good to great QB to have consistent success, you have Trent Dilfer or Jimmy Garoppolo or Jared Goff your not going to have consistent playoff or SB appaerances, but I think both BB or Carroll could win with other quality QBs like Mahomes,Rogers, Brees, Big Ben and some others and those QBs need a quality coach also. They play for a coach like Gase they're screwed. So I think it's a mutual beneficial endeavor and any sustained success speaks well for all concerned. I find it hard to believe fans would doubt that BB wasn't a key part of the Pats success.
