I have had three Chevrolet Silverado pickups and I have well over 800,000 miles between the three of them. They just been very dependable.

If you define "best" as the car you loved the most, then this is it.

It took till year 50 to get something decent ..Benz 2011 GLK.

But I can't tell you how much I miss going to Home depot with my Ford Expedition and sliding 8x4 sheets of plywood right threw the back window. Good times.

Watched one of those shows where they customize vehicles and they sure did some sweet shit with those old VW buses.

I just did that in my Wagoneer last weekend! It didn't even scratch the laid-down back seat because they were smart enough to put carpet on the back and not leather or vinyl.

Why can't you buy a new SUV with a working back window anymore? Sucks...

Tie really between my '85 Volvo GL, and the '09 Infiniti G37...Never owned a 4cyl with the power that Volvo had...sturdy, reliable...the G is just a sweet car imo, more power than most people need, but it has the handling, brakes, suspension, etc. to always feel in control.

I will say though my '04 GMC Envoy took me through a lot of miles (200k+) with very minimal trouble, but I never liked it much.

I'm envious of the GLK.

As far as value, when first married I bought an '87 Atsrovan used for $1800. Raised 3 kids in that thing before getting a nicer car. At that point, I jerked all but the driver seat out and laid plywood down and it got a second life as a work vehicle. Dropped a rebuilt GM 4.3 engine in and drove it another 150,000 miles before selling it to a Mexican guy who does work for me for $1500. :D Couldn't possibly have been happier with that little van.

I like to hear those stories about vehicles, which in the end, actually made an owner cash. Not only when selling, but also by using as a work car/van.

Good job with Astro van Hammer...I'm sure you happy to see that one roll away.

'94 Chevy Beretta. She has about 350,000 on her. Resting in a barn under a tarp for the time being. But she'll be back.

My first wheels were a Pacer, the doors weighed about a ton each and it was ugly as all hell, I think it was the prototype for the hummvee.

2001 Hyundai Accent. 110,000 miles, and the only thing I've ever had to get replaced (outside of normal maintenance, of course) is a spark plug that blew.

This right here.

A 1964 Chevy Impala. Mine had red interior and a little "Mod" done to it. A built 350 out of a Corvette Stingray. Thing would haul ass for being 4500 lbs. Plus the stereo equipment in it. Trunk full of amps and subs.

I also have an 01 Accent, with 137K on it. Great little cars.
