Dark Knight was the first movie I ever saw that just blew me away. A super hero movie but a very dark undertone.

The entire hospital scene, beginning to end, was absolutely amazing. Ledger was hilarious in the dress, and the demolition was one of the best true effects I have ever seen in a movie.

Two-Face's face was gruesome, as well (even if it was just CGI - they would not have been able to do that with makeup anyway)

I went into the Dark Knight expecting it to be fucking lame(not a huge superhero movie guy) and fully prepared to laugh at all the fanboys.

It was a midnight showing that I got for free. After about 10 minutes I realized "shit this movie is actually awesome, I should pay attention".

But the Departed is probably my favorite movie of all time. No clue how it's losing. Ledger gave a legendary performance. But the departed had all stars everywhere and it was a killer movie vs a superhero(albeit best one ever) movie.

Both movies are awesome. I have already had some of my all-time movies eliminated.

This one, in particular is not a vote AGAINST The Departed, but rather FOR The Dark Knight...
