Favorite Movie Based on a Video Game

Hit me with some of your video game movies. For me, some of the ones I can watch over and over are of course the Resident Evil series, the first Doom, Sonic, the animated Mario and the original Mortal Kombat. Oh, and the live action Mario movie, as cringe inducing as it is, is great lol.

Street Fighter (1994) is one of the best 'bad' movies to MST ever made imo. They wanted to make a GI Joe movie and just sorta...made it Street Fighter. The Street Fighter 2: Animated Movie (Anime) from the same year is very influential to the actual video game series. I'd say its corny good in the same way Mortal Kombat (1995) is but not really MST worthy.

I think Sonic (2020) is good for kids if only because of Jim Carrey.

The actual best? Its way down there at 33% on rotten tomatoes but the Silent Hill (2006) is something my wife and I have both intentionally watched multiple times. Its the director that did Brotherhood of the Wolf and his movies come off as interesting to watch even if they aren't conventionally good. The pacing of the movie also feels a bit like a video game which is a bit slow for some. Some of the big plot dumps might as well be video game cutscenes. The dual female leads being the woman from Pitch Black and Andrea from the Walking Dead kinda works. Its a french take on japanese horror. Fairly uncommon.

But I love movies of this type and the big twist at the end was absolutely fantastic

Star Wars: KOTOR would make for a great movie
