I would if you're going to claim titles that aren't earned.

It doesn't matter anymore. Apparently they met and voted today and it's no fall season.

Made a mistake in post 62. Today, Monday, they released the vote cancelling the fall season. It's the one they took a few weeks ago.

Still hope.

So officially Nebraska, Iowa, and Ohio State were the 3 to vote yes to play this season. Everyone else in the L1ttle 11 can suck it - friggin pussies!
Whatever we get this year is going to be weird and isn't going to really be "college football". Empty stadiums. Most star players opting out. 2 conferences not playing during the normal season. Altered scheduled that only play conference games. I'm going to miss CFB more than anyone and I wish they were attempting to play, but whatever we witness here in the next few weeks isn't really going to be college football. The game where stadium noise and intimidation has prevented Michigan from winning at Columbus in 2 decades. Playing in the swamp? Who cares, only a few people are going to be there. Something is probably better than nothing but until this all plays out we really won't know if the B10 made the right choice or not.

Glad the Ohio State president voted against the postponed season. I guess it doesn't make it difference now but when the president of the best school in the B1G doesn't want to postpone you think it would make a difference. It should have been an all or nothing vote instead of 60%, they should have waited...they did a lot of things wrong and Warren should be held accountable. Fire that little bitch.

The problem is that the other schools have educated presidents with real medical doctorates and shit; not just people who hope Tressel doesn't fire them.

The majority of the time mNb09 is talking directly outta his ass anyway. Like when he called Ryan Day a high school coach.

They will have the same protocol as MLB, NBA and soon to be NFL. If it got too out of control, they could cancel the season...no point in acting too early, that's the whole point. The fact 8 of the 11 voted no and didn't say anything about, "why don't we wait a couple weeks?"...is shocking

Our president is a pretty well decorated medical doctor in microbiology, immunology and internal medicine. Even little bro has a Gastroenterologist serving as their president.

I somewhat agree but Michigan State didn't even feel comfortable having students on campus. So how are they going to justify athletics? Other schools probably wanted the best shot at having kids stay in person, which would be impacted by guaranteed tailgating off campus if football was played.

What a great season we're going to get, with rosters empty by players opting out:

I hope there are rules in place for players who opt out to be as safe and protected as possible. Those rules should include being banned from the facilities for anything but rehab, banned from all team activities, and banned from the sideline or stadium during games.

Gotta make sure those who are worried about safety are kept safe.

I'm sure the other schools have their lawyers poring over the charter to figure out if they can get a temporary, maybe permanent, divorce from the B1G.
Probably not. given the 11-3 vote it seems like there was almost universal agreement. OSU certainly wouldn't. Iowa and Nebraska lose massive amounts of money going elsewhere.

Maybe football in October now!

Report: Big Ten considering October start date for football

@Wolverine830872 It is all Trumps fault if it happens

This report comes just a few hours after news broke regarding President Donald Trump and Big Ten Commissioner Kevin Warren having a conversation to possibly bring football back. The President has been pushing recently on social media to have the Big Ten play this year.

"I think it was very productive about getting Big Ten playing again, immediately," President Trump told reporters before a flight to Wisconsin. "Let's see what happens. (Warren is) a great guy, it's a great conference. Tremendous teams. We're pushing very hard."

After the news of their conversation broke, the Big Ten put out a statement in regards to the news.

“A White House representative reached out to Big Ten Conference commissioner Kevin Warren on Monday, August 31, 2020, to facilitate a phone call between President Donald J. Trump and Commissioner Warren,” the Big Ten said in a statement. “On Tuesday, September 1, 2020, Commissioner Warren and the President had a productive conversation.

“The Big Ten Conference and its Return to Competition Task Force, on behalf of the Big Ten Council of Presidents and Chancellors (COP/C), are exhausting every resource to help student-athletes get back to playing the sports they love, at the appropriate time, in the safest and healthiest way possible.”
