Athlon Sports is doing a series of college football stadium rankings, and it was time to consider the Big Ten homes Friday. Ohio Stadium took the top spot, garnering nine of 12 first-place votes, while Memorial Stadium (Nebraska) came in second. The voters included 10 Big Ten personalities, including BTN’s Gerry DiNardo, Tom Dienhart and Brent Yarina, and a pair of Athlon experts. See the full results in this post.

1. Ohio Stadium (Ohio State) – figured this would be #1
2. Memorial Stadium (Nebraska) – if the Shoe wasn't first, I figured this would have been.
3. Camp Randall Stadium (Wisconsin) – I personally wouldn't have this above Beaver Stadium or Big House.
4. Beaver Stadium (Penn State) – I would have at #3
5. Michigan Stadium (Michigan) – I would have at #4

I agree or don't care with the rest.

I saw that. Also Oklahoma came in at #1 for Big XII. Should be even better after the renovation.

Nothing wrong with the list. Personal preference I'd have Camp Randall over Memorial, and I think TCF Bank is much to low, I'd have that ahead of Kinnick and Spartan Stadium, and maybe even the Big House.

Michigan Stadium, the largest stadium in the country (and not just college football) being 5th is just too low. Not to mention all the history and tradition that has happened there.

Of the B1G stadiums I have been to, there is a clear hierarchy of:

Tier 1: Ohio State
Tier 2: Wisconsin
Tier 3: Iowa, Michigan
Splitter: Minnesota
Tier 4: Michigan State, Illinois
Tier 5: Northwestern, Purdue

Based on TV, I'd put Penn State and Nebraska in Tier 2. Maryland would be a tier 4&5 splitter. Rutgers and Indiana are tier 5.

So overall, I think this list is really good. Only slight alterations I'd make are switching Iowa and Michigan, and changing Minnesota and Michigan State.

Minnesota's stadium is actually really nice. The program just isn't very good.

Being the largest and what has happened there does not make it the best.

I've never been to the shoe but I can't say I doubt they have the best.

All I know is Nebraska's gameday experience is one of the best in the country, so OSU must be a real treat.

I've been to the Big House - it was a library compared to several other stadiums I have been to. But had good tailgate experience.

Memorial stadium is the best venue in the country. Period. End of story.

People need to experience it before they rate it.

That is for damn sure.

Gameday at Nebraska will put butterflies in your stomach, whether your team is playing or not. Just being there is unreal.

Solid list, I agree with the top 5 for sure. I don't know much about the bottom 9 to make an observation.

Never been to Oklahoma's stadium. I'll be there in 2020 no matter what.
