B.J. Upton, mired in, well, it can’t really be called a “slump” when it’s his whole season, is riding pine against the Nationals tonight. In his place in center field: Jason Heyward. Evan Gattis will be in left and Justin Upton in right.
Counting tonight, Upton has been benched five times in the Braves last seven games. And in the two games he started he went 0 for 6 with five strikeouts. Overall this year he’s “hitting” .136/.232/.247 with 62 strikeouts in 158 at bats.
He’s in the first year of a five-year, $75 million deal. If the Braves weren’t in first place I figure he’d be getting way more pub than he is for stinking as bad as he has

Those Uptons are two of my least-liked players in the league. Very entitled.

Hence the # 1 reason Justin is no longer in the desert. Gibby wants gamers, nothing else, and nothing less.

As far as I can tell Justin has been fine. Seems to be getting along with everybody and doing his job for the most part, at least it appears that way. BJ on the other hand is an ass and can't hit his way out of a wet paper bag. As much as I like Prado, I'm still very happy with the trade.

I read a headline saying the Braves were strongly considering sending him down to the minors.

B.J. Upton helped the braves get the first run in today's game. However, he has not played up to his contract. He needs more big hits for us.
