So they ranked teams that will not play this Fall (which I don't mind). How will this work after the games kickoff with some teams not playing?

ESPN said:All Division I teams were eligible for the preseason AP Top 25, but after the season starts, only teams scheduled to play in the fall are eligible. That leaves 76 FBS teams from which to choose.
AP has said they may do a separate poll for the spring season. Looks like 2 National Champs this academic year.

I hope it runs, uninterrupted. It will show the incompetence of the B1G commissioner and they can run him out on a rail.I have serious doubts, this season, will finish.

Minnesota was gonna be in the top 20 preseason poll so the universe devised a way to destroy there season. Make no mistake, the covid is a scam to keep us gophers from enjoying our preseason. And the Preseason AP Poll, since it wasn't in the original post (first-place votes in parentheses):
1. Clemson (38)
2. Ohio State (21)
3. Alabama (2)
4. Georgia
5. Oklahoma (2)
6. LSU (1)
7. Penn State
8. Florida
9. Oregon
10. Notre Dame
11. Auburn
12. Wisconsin
13. Texas A&M
14. Texas
15. Oklahoma State
16. Michigan
17. USC
18. North Carolina
19. Minnesota
20. Cincinnati
21. UCF
22. Utah
23. Iowa State
24. Iowa
25. Tennessee
Hell yeah! A&M gonna finally finish in the top 25.
We could just reserve a spot in the playoff for the B1G/Pac12 contender and pretend that they got blown out 48-14 or something like they do every year.
B1G didn't get blown out in the playoff last year.
Oregon still holds the record for biggest blowout in a CFP game.

What are you talking about? The PAC doesn’t even perform well enough to have the right to be blown out 48-14 in a playoff which sucks coming from someone who lives in PAC-12 country. It’s an embarrassment and it pisses me off.
I was talking with a friend the other day and we were laughing about how bad it would have been had Utah not gotten drummed in their CCG and somehow squeaked into that 4 slot. Can you imagine what LSU would have done to them? It would have been a bloodbath.
