The guy is an absolute beast!
Not sure how many are hating on him, but one game does not make him a superstar either. He has had several not so good games this season and this is his first 100y receiving yards game.
I think he has his upside and right now they need him to be big, but is he one of the top 4 or 5 WR's in the league? I wouldn't say so. Is he going to be worth his contract needs in coming seasons? I don't know if I would say yes at this point.
Tate is just a straight up play maker. He can be inconsistent in the receiving department, but he's been solid all year in the return game.
1,000 yards receiving on this team? not going to happen or i should say VERY unlikely for any WR even if Jerry Rice or Steve Largent were on this team it most likely would not happen.
Huh? what are you saying here? That Largent wouldn't be skilled enough to get 1000 yards with the talent this team has at WR around him? Or that the team doesn't throw for enough yards to get Largent to 1000 this season?
If it's the latter, you're wrong. In the 8 seasons that Largent had 1000 yards for Seattle, the team's QBs threw for fewer yards per game than what this season's QBs are throwing (1978, 212.6; 1980, 218.4; 1983, 207.3; 1986, 214.0). And this was even before Wilson put 287 yards on Atlanta to bring this year's per game passing yards to 226.1.
Actually, after today's game, Tate is on pace to have 1000 yards receiving (1020). He's also on pace to have the 4th most PR yards in a season in history, which is even more impressive that he's had several big returns called back.
