I got the new Xbox, the black one....When I first got it, you could barely hear the thing was on, even when you played games. Now, it's like the loudest thing in the house! I have it on and the thing hums like a bee.

Are you playing a new game or something? They're quieter after you install the game on the console.... or it could have the devil in it.

:noidea:

Doesn't help you but my 360 (first model) is loud as shit. Looks like Microsoft never figured that out as they iterated the 360's design

My PS3 did that for a bit before the blu ray drive gave out.

Yeah new game, NCAA '14. Xbox shouldn't be clunking out as it is only about 2 years old and I haven't put that many hours into it. My last Xbox got the red ring of death.

The thing just churns so hard, sounds like it is playing a Dubstep CD.

Never had an issue with the black ones. The first generation ones that eventually RRODed on me sounded like lawn mowers though...

Is it in a well ventilated place? In my experience they always start to make more noise when they are overheated...

Sounds like an overheating/fan issue. Try putting it in a more open area or standing it up vertically instead of laying down horizontally.

Mine has too! I think Microsoft installed a chip to make them malfunction when the xbox one comes out!

It could have something to do with the disc as well. I've noticed certain games spin up louder than others and remain that way for long periods of time. The actual xbox, while just sitting there, isn't loud; usually it's the game itself. Maybe the disc is off balance a bit? Who knows. Doesn't really bother me anymore as my sound system is louder lol.
