I was a little apprehensive about his hitting after getting plunked in the wrist last year. How long it would take him to get his swing back, would he be rusty, etc

Yet he is off to his best start yet, and on pace to surpass his what should have been MVP season of 2013

best 1B'man in the entire league hands down and directly in his prime right now, lets hope this organization brings in a true ace and shores up the last half of the lineup and doesn't waste his prime years

Apparently, the Dbacks made him no promises when they signed him. Meaning, if he isn't hitting in the minors, he won't be called up. He has a June 1st out clause if he isn't on the 25-man roster.

He set to start to day doing drills & hitting at Salt Rivers Field. He will be off to Reno in the next few days.

Oscar Hernadez is almost ready for some extended spring training games. After that, he gets up to 2 weeks for his rehab stint in the minors. It's likely he could be ready to join the 25-man roster by the end of May.

This is really a no-lose situation for the Dbacks. If he doesn't hit in Reno, Salty will just be released by the time Oscar is ready.
