i'd be happy to be wrong on their ability to get machado AND to keep him. the "and" part is the toughest. getting him won't cost $300M but keeping him will. having been burnt by this ownership so many times i admit my fear of them spending garcia AND abreu to get him and then losing him to free agency anyway. sorry i can't be more confident about this team but i've just been a fan too long to not fear the worst.
