- Have Every conference winner that has 9 or more wins

-6 wild card, top 6 in CFB Rankings thatdidn'twin a conference.

-If, For hypothetical situation, Georgia Southern wins Sunbelt with 8-4. Then 7th non conference winner in CFB rankings gets in.

What do you guys think?

So you want the 2 teams in the title game playing what? 17 games?

No.

1 v 16
2 vs 15
3 vs 14
4 vs 13
5 vs 12

And then winners play winners and such. So maximum 4 games

Higher seeds (10-16 in normal years)belong to wild cards.

I'm saying, teams already play 12 games in the regular season, CCGs would be #13. Round of 16 would be 14, round of 8 would be 15, semis would be 16, and so the title game would be the 17th game for both those teams.

Not only would schools that care about academics not favor this, coaches and players and NFL teams who want to draft them don't want players getting injured, etc..

So there could, in theory, be a different amount of teams in the playoffs each year?

I'd be in favor of a total overhaul. An NFL type of alignment. A group of 64 teams or so in 8 divisions (or conferences). A 12-game regular season schedule with NO CONFERENCE CHAMPIONSHIP GAME. A round robin division schedule (7 games). Division winners advance to the playoffs with 8 wildcards. 16 games would be the max number played.

The 'Group of 5' could have a similar setup. Nobody gets left out.

Two separate playoffs. NO...they would not play each other. There'd be two separate National Champions just as the FCS, DII, and DIII have.

This probably what needs to happen. It does make sense. All the arguments about G5 programs......... they won't be able to make it in ever - understandably.

It would be difficult on some levels, the traditional conferences would be gone.

If you're gonna go to 16 teams for the playoffs then just simply give every conference champion an automatic bid. That would give every team a flat-out change to win the whole thing.
