Strip comes into a 3-0 game.

It is now a 7-0 game.

Fantastic pitching there, just excellent. Sure hope he stays (away) next year. Oye!

BTW, we were going to lose the game at 3-0 anyway. This bunch of hitters can't hit, can't run, can't score.

The frustrating part of these player opt outs is that they work in reverse of what we'd like them to do. Club options are much more palatable that way.

The following players should now be in the starting lineup every single game the rest of the season:
Bailey and/or Sabol
Fitzgerald
Luciano
Matos
Ramos

The other 9 position players can rotate through the remaining 3 to 4 spots in the lineup.

Sure hope Strip opts out. His ERA pre-ASB was 6.5, post-ASB it is 4.5, better, but still not acceptable. And 20 HR in 80 innings? Bert Blyleven must be jealous.
He's not opting out. He's said as much.

This just in, the Giants are considered one of the worst teams of 2023. In fact by many since it has collapsed it is considered one of the worst Giant team in decades.

Is it possible the team is losing kinda like on purpose ? Maybe hoping Kap will be forced out ? Or they just don’t care ? But then why would they not care ? I’m just looking for a good solid reason why the Giants are playing like they have been playing.

Attention! Attention! The 53 win Kansas City Royals, the 48 win Oakland Athletics, the 56 win Colorado Rockies, and the $445 million 84-loss New York Mets would respectfully disagree. Each of those teams would be ECSTATIC to exchange records/salaries/both with the Giants.

As much as I moan and groan about this season, it could have been a WHOLE lot worst. Perspective. Perspective. Perspective.

The difference of those teams is they started out poorly, none of them had the chance to collapse like the 2023 Giants.

The collapse has been bad but they started the season poorly. The middle of the season was really good so it feels worse than it is right now. The entire team was hitting well and pitching well, it seemed, in late June. Now, it seems that the entire team went the opposite direction. The two extremes brought the team back to the mean, slightly below .500.

Maybe I did forget how bad they were in the beginning and have been blinded by the more recent months that have disappointed and torn apart my life little by little
