I think it’s that “who ARE those guys” thing, and the way baseball is just so boring these days (imho). I know SO, BB, HR wins games, but it’s just so slow. I much prefer the 2010-2014 way of winning games vs this. Maybe I’ll change my mind if they win the WS, but it’s just not a fun brand of baseball to watch for me.
This is also a factor. Gotta ban the shift to start.

I agree. I'm not sure why many of the regulars have seemed to have just stopped posting. For me this has been a miracle season so far. Never expected this. If we play .500 ball for the rest of the season we end with 92 or 93 wins. For me that's playoff range. Never did I expect this.
I really don't post that much but I do read the board every day. You though, post quite a few times .... daily. I also see you on the political boards quite a bit. Don't know how you keep your composure in that arena.

Perhaps filo has set the dues too high?

Remember in the dynasty years when we didn't score a lot, Stokes was always complaining about BamBam, how we didn't hit home runs and didn't get walks and we're super aggressive batters. Now we walk and hit HRs all the time and we can score a bit.

Yeah I’d be ok with some type of altered/modified shift. Like a SS or 3B have to stay on the left side of 2B, the 2B has to play on the right side of 2B (at least by an inch), and no IF’s in the OF grass.

And I LIKE it!

And see, BamBam leaves, and the Giants begin to score runs! ;)

These guys are major league hitters. For the life of me, I don't know why, with almost four guys on one side of the infield, that they don't just punch the ball the other way. How hard can that be? I mean, if you can hit the ball enough to pull it, why not go the other way? :noidea:

Well, firstly, I agree. That said, when the pitchers throw to the defense, it’s hard to hit inside heat and back ankle sliders the other way. Not impossible, but hard. Secondly, hitters like Gwynn don’t get the high bread money anymore. Hitters with high OPS that take pitches and hit XBH’s get all the money and interest from teams. When you have those two working against you, I understand the thinking of, adapt or take peanuts in FA.

Not a whole lot of good relievers that seem available, yet. I agree that a good reliever or two could strengthen the bullpen but disagree that the bullpen is awful. Not lights out like most of the dynasty but its pretty decent.
I felt that way as of a few weeks ago, but now I do not. I’m pretty disappointed with several of our arms.

I don't know how to look it up but I would guess though June and July they've had among the best numbers in the league from the pen.
Sadly, the season started in April. Complete shitshow for the first month, then it seemed settled, now back to shitshow.

I heard on the radio (Knbr so take with a grain of salt) the other day that the Giants have the 3rd best BP in some category. Don’t know if it was in a timeframe (like last month or week or something), but they were joking that all teams fans except for a few hate their bullpens.
Bullpen ERA. Not the best metric to evaluate a bullpen IMO.

But it's not back to shitshow, not even close. This is part of your lunacy, you can't see what's right in front of you. I can't even remember the last blown save.

I think we led the league in "pounds of shit left on the mound" ... fact check me on that @tzill ...

This is essentially Buster’s stance. And he has essentially swayed me to that side of the argument
