Man this ump has been so consistently inconsistent. For both teams. Maddening for both pitchers and hitters. Used to hate those kind when I played
Would have been fine 30 years ago. A human making the calls was the only solution.

But we aren’t in the era of 30 years ago any more. We almost have a technological solution to getting consistency. And I don’t watch this game to see the guy in blue do his thing. They need to be as invisible as possible.

OK I promise I'm not a prisoner of the moment, I feel like Flores is not clutch, gets a lot of his stats in low leverage situations. It was like that the game I was at Saturday he was 3-5 but the 2 outs were lousy ABs late with men in scoring position in a close game.

Just wish his numbers were paired with Crawford's RBI finding ability, that dude always gets more than his numbers should indicate

I've decided to agree to this position I was on the fence before but yeah bring in the robots. Not all at once at first but let's get started (challenge system etc)

Agreed, even if only home plate for balls and strikes. If you want to placate the Union, have the HP ump in a room with a camera for out/safe calls at the plate. There’s just too many outcomes decided by pitches.

Agree that it has to be incremental. Whatever that means.

I don’t think we will be able to ever remove the umpire from the field entirely, so we need to make sure they have enough to do to remain engaged. But having them make judgement calls on something as binary as ball/strike calls, when it is practically impossible for a human being to be accurate, is just dumb.

I have argued for a 5th umpire per crew that is responsible for replays of THAT game. Why rely on an unknown entity 3,000 miles away?

The robots are only going to assist the umps not replace them. Even if they end up calling them they will just correct the ump. Of course you need 4 humans out there it's a lot more than balls and strikes.

Woof. Farhan surely has a television. Up to him if he wants to make this year about trying or just fold and worry about next year.

Your move Farhan. I want to cash some chips and play this year, being in first wild card position and close to the division lead isn't just handed to us. Bart is not getting any younger, nor is Ramos, make a damn move

I’m ok with the money ball approach during the first nine innings, but working 2-2 and 3-2 counts only to strike out with a runner starting on second is frustrating. Hat tip to the Dbags catcher, he tried to win it for us.

You gotta have someone who wants those pieces and who has something we want. As much as I want to point and blame FZ, Bart and Ramos both have warts that make them difficult to sell for value.
