Another win for OSU. Defense looked great. Justin Fields throwing a little high on some balls otherwise this could have been about 70 points. Bucks will be tough to beat in the regular season.

I just can't grasp how much the defense looks so far this year compared to last.. I mean we have some of the same players and yet what a huge difference. Example, the LBs are playing like the true silver bullets. They are all over the field and the speed from side to side. It's unreal. Schiano and Bill Davis were an absolute dud. The secondary looks amazing again with Harley running the show.
One final note. The ST played great and kudos to the new ST coach for getting these guys dialed in. I know Urbs had a big smile watching the ST play.

Having a great 2nd quarter and Fields looking much better! He is throwing darts now!

My biggest issue with him was he only throws to wide open players (a little like Barrett). Seemed to throw a little more into tighter coverage today.

True....and pretty sure IU torched us last year like many middling teams did. D definitely looks a lot better.

My biggest issue with him was he only throws to wide open players (a little like Barrett). Seemed to throw a little more into tighter coverage today.

It's his third start. No reason for him to throw into ridiculously tight windows so far. He isn't Haskins. He hasn't been in the program 2+ years. He's still learning the offense and they are limiting what they do with him right now.

I'm ok with that.

IU torched us two years in a row. It's amazing how we look with Schiano and Davis gone. I said many times last season that I didn't believe for a second that our defensive talent was just that bad, that it was coaching and scheme, and I was mocked pretty roundly on here. What a difference a year and a new defensive coaching staff makes.

I dont necessarily believe Schiano is a bad coach. I do believe he made a bad decision going with a defensive scheme that was too complicated for his players. Now Bill Davis, he was a bad coach. Our LBs got noticeably worse from the get go of his hire
